A nine-member organising committee has been established by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, to welcome the more than 7,000 visitors anticipated for Eckankar Ghana’s 2018 African Seminar.

The three-day Seminar is slated to take place in Accra from August 27 to 29, 2023, when it will officially begin.

The committee, led by Mrs. Betty A. Kobi, Director of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE), is also charged with organising the next seminar by showcasing Ghana’s ideals and portraying the country as welcoming to visitors from around the world.

The committee is made up of chosen representatives from the GTA, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, and some Eckankar Ghana members.

The Chief Executive Officer of GTA, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, reaffirmed the necessity of perfecting the Ministry’s objective to make Ghana the top meeting destination at the inaugural event in Accra.

With the assistance of their colleagues from the security services, he claimed that GTA was interested in working with Eckankar Ghana for the sake of the nation.

Mr. Agyeman thanked the Ghanaian Union of Tour Operators for their dedication and urged them to use the next seminar to promote and market Ghana to the rest of the world.

According to Mr. David Olaga, Coordinator, Eckankar Ghana, the newly established committee would make it easier for their guests and participants to arrive from all over Africa and the world and make sure they left the seminar with a favourable impression of Ghana.

Mr. Olaga emphasised that the prestige of Eckankar, a religious institution that organised the event, was on the line. He added that with the committee’s assistance, everything would proceed without incident.

He stated, “A lot of these people we are expecting have heard so much about Ghana and know that we are a religiously tolerant country and so will want to come and experience the entire country.”

In her remarks, Mrs. Kobi, the chairperson of the committee, expressed gratitude to the government for placing its trust in her and her organisation and vowed to work nonstop to make the seminar a success.

The headquarters of Eckankar Ghana, a chartered affiliate of Eckankar International, are in America, where the living ECK Master preside with his team in order to communicate with the various areas about Eckankar-related issues. Eckankar Ghana was registered as a religion in Ghana in 1976.

The African seminar is held every five years in a few African nations, and this year it will be held in Ghana. Participants are expected from Africa, Europe, Asia, and America.

In addition to a special workshop on Thursday, August 24, to kick off the full seminar, on the subject of “Getting your own answers from God,” there would be a series of seminars during this seminar for both current and prospective members.
